On September 11th, 2019 - Grand Island went smoke and vape free in public places and places of employment. Now wherever you cannot smoke you cannot use e-cigarettes as well. The city also added that you must be 19 to purchase tobacco products in Grand Island. The age to purchase tobacco will be 19 for the entire state starting January 1, 2020. §39-4. Smoking Prohibited; Exceptions It shall be unlawful for any person to smoke or vape in a place of employment or a public place, except as designated by a proprietor pursuant to this Section.
§20-20. Tobacco; Possession By Minors
(A) It shall be unlawful for any person under the age of nineteen (19) years to possess any tobacco products, vapor products or alternative nicotine products.
